The lab-grown diamonds are manufactured using HPHT & CVD process. HPHT is a process in which the carbon seeds of the existing diamond are inserted into the machinery & treated under extreme pressure & heat.
CVD is a process that involves treating HPHT diamonds. The HPHT diamond is inserted inside a sealed container. It is heated to around 800 degrees Celsius. The container is filled with carbon-rich gases & the gases are ionized into plasma. Due to extreme heat & pressure, the existing molecular bonds break into crystallized carbon. Then the pure carbon sticks to the diamond seed & the seed crystallize into the diamond.
